Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 Demo: Transfer Save Data, Co-op and Release Date

Monster Hunter Wilds arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, and Capcom is letting players sample the start of the adventure before purchasing the full game. The free Prologue Demo launches October 19 in North America and October 20 in Europe, with progress carrying over to the full release on Nintendo Switch 2.

It's a demo that is worth knowing a little about before you download it as it is unlike a typical Monster Hunter trial.

Instead of providing players with only a handful of separate hunts, it allows players to play through the beginning of the story. Local multiplayer is supported, but there is no online multiplayer in this demo.

The difference between October 19 and October 20 is based on regional release scheduling. Players are advised to check their local Nintendo eShop for the actual listing and availability rather than assume all regions will get the demo at the same local time.
