1. The Reveal: Opening Night Live’s Crowning Jewel When Geoff Keighley dimmed the lights for the final reveal of Opening Night Live (ONL) 2026, the sound of a hand-cranked dynamo was all it took for the crowd to erupt. The METRO 2039 reveal trailer was a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling. It didn't start with action. It started with silence. We see a close-up of a cracked gas mask on the snowy pavement of Red Square. As Artyom’s heavy breathing fills the theater, the camera pulls back to reveal a Moscow that looks fundamentally different from what we saw in Metro 2033. This is a city reclaimed by a nuclear winter that has "thawed" into a slushy, grey nightmare.
