Fortnite Freddy Krueger Skin: Cost, Bundle & How to Purchase
Freddy Krueger is now available in Fortnite as part of the Fortnitemares 2026 event, meaning you can bring the A Nightmare on Elm Street horror legend to the Item Shop. Unlike a regular event cosmetic that is teased in advance, Freddy is now an outfit that you can buy.
Epic has also tied the character to Fortnitemares itself in gameplay. Freddy can be killed on the island as a boss, and also his outfit, pickaxe, emote, back bling, Kicks, wrap and a larger bundle is available in the Item Shop.
If you’re wondering whether you should spend V-Bucks on the collaboration, here is everything that is known about the Freddy Krueger skin, including how much it costs, what’s in the bundle and the best way to get it.
Is Freddy Krueger Available In Fortnite?
Yes. Freddy Krueger in Fortnitemares 2026 confirms…
Epic’s Fortnitemares announcement specifically mentions A Nightmare on Elm Street is among the horror collabs coming this October. It also adds Freddy Krueger at Nightmare Neighborhood where you can battle against him as a boss and drop Freddy’s Nightmare lol.
That, however, makes for two different Freddy portions of the event:
Freddy Krueger skin: Bought from the Item Shop.
Freddy Krueger boss: Play against and defeat this boss, Freddy`s Nightmare.
Buying the skin doesn’t replace the boss fight, nor beating the boss means you can unlock the skin for free in the Item Shop. They’re two different aspects of the Fortnitemares experience.
Fortnite Freddy Krueger Skin Release Date
The Freddy Krueger skin was released in Fortnite during the Fortnitemares in 2026 on October.
Epic’s current Fortnite website banner art prominently shows Freddy Krueger as part of the ongoing
Fortnitemares campaign, with the character directing players toward the Item Shop.
It also follows the general format of Fortnitemares 2026. Epic released the event on October 1st and stated that extra horror-themed outfits and accessories would be released throughout the month of October. For those players who want the skin, the thing to note is that Freddy is already in, as opposed to a collaboration that is coming in the future and was just announced.
What’s Inside A Nightmare on Elm Street Bundle?
The complete A Nightmare on Elm Street Bundle is priced at 2,300 V-Bucks.
Epic states that the original value of the combined the bundle is 4,700 V-Bucks, so buying them included in this bundle saves you 2,400 V-Bucks from getting the individual cosmetics.
Bundle Includes:
Freddy Krueger Skins
This is the main Freddy Krueger character cosmetic. It’s the centerpiece of the collaboration and can be bought separately for 1,600 V-Bucks.
Freddy’s Glove
Freddy’s iconic claw is purchasable as a pickaxe for 800 V-Bucks for an individual purchase.
It is arguably the most instantly recognizable accessory from the set as the glove is closely tied with Freddy’s character design.
Freddy’s Coming
It’s a Freddy-themed emote for 500 V-Bucks. In addition to serving as a Homebase animation – a la Telltale – Epic’s Item Shop also shows it works in the very, very though I mention it?Lobby Animation.
Freddy’s Back Boiler
The Back Boiler is a 500-V-Buck back bling. The listing from Epic also specifies it has an elimination reactive and a selectable styles properties.
Krueger Specials
The Freddy-themed Kicks (priced at 800 V-bucks) are Krueger Specials.
This is especially valuable for those players who want to mix and match more than just footwear from the Freddy-themed shoes but not wear the complete outfit all at once. Freddy’s Flames
Freddy’s Flames is the corresponding weapon wrap and can be purchased for 500 V-Bucks individually.
Freddy’s Boilermaker
The last listed cosmetic is Freddy’s Boilermaker, which costs 800 V-bucks. Epic says it is a pack of several cosmetic funtions.
Is the Freddy Krueger Bundle a Better Buy Than the Skin Alone?
It’s only if you want to play through the whole cosmetic set.
If you want to play as Freddy Krueger and that’s it, then you just buy the skin for 1600 V-Bucks and that’s that.
It’s if you want the pickaxe, back bling, emote, wrap and other cosmetics that the bundle makes sense. Epic’s individual prices total 4,700 V-Bucks, but the bundle can be purchased for 2,300 V-Bucks.
That’s quite a bit of change.
There’s also a practical consideration: Fortnite bundles are most useful when you want multiple items. Purchasing a bundle simply because it is on sale isn’t better if you are going to leave most of the cosmetics in that bundle sitting in your locker.
So a player that only wants the Freddy character should probably pick up the 1,600-V-Buck outfit, not the 2,300-V-Buck bundle.
Can You Buy Freddy Krueger Separately?
Yes.
The Freddy Krueger costume is available individually in the Item Shop for 1,600 V-Bucks. The other items are also sold separately, so you don’t need to buy the entire bundle to get Freddy.
This gives players a few choices when it comes to buying:
- Just Freddy Krueger.
- Freddy and some of the other items individually.
- The entire A Nightmare on Elm Street Bundle.
This is a good level of flexibility, as not all players will want every single cosmetic in a crossover bundle.
How to Get Freddy Krueger in Fortnite
The process of acquiring the skin is simple as it is an Item Shop cosmetic.
Step 1: Open Fortnite
On your supported device, open Fortnite and go to the main lobby.
Step 2: Open the Item Shop
From the main Fortnite interface, select Item Shop.
Step 3: Find A Nightmare on Elm Street
In the shop, look for the A Nightmare on Elm Street section.
At the moment, Epic Games combines all of the Freddy cosmetics together in the Item Shop under this heading.
Step 4: Select the Skin or Bundle
You can choose between:
Freddy Krueger – 1,600 V-Bucks
A Nightmare on Elm Street Bundle – 2,300 V-Bucks
Other Freddy-related cosmetics
Step 5: Finalize the Purchase
Use your V-Bucks to confirm the purchase. The cosmetic will then appear in your Fortnite locker.
Epic Games has not yet detailed any quests required to earn the skin. The Item Shop is how you get the skin.
Freddy Krueger Is Also a Fortnitemares Boss:
Item Shop skin is just one aspect of the partnership.
Epic has also added Freddy Krueger to the actual Fortnitemares gameplay. Players will be able to find him in Nightmare Neighbourhood and even take him on as a boss. When the player kills him, you get to take a weapon called Freddy’s Nightmare, which allows you to teleport into range before shooting your enemies.
This is a nuance worth knowing, because the two Freddy appearances are really different things.
The skin is a cosmetic purchase.
This boss ismatic.
You don’t have to buy the skin to take on Freddy, and buying the skin doesn’t instantly give you the boss’s weapon.
What Is Freddy’s Nightmare?
Freddy’s Nightmare is the gameplay prize from the Freddy Krueger boss fight.
Epic describes the gun as one that lets you teleport to the enemy and slash them, which is pretty cool. Which makes it more than just a look inspired by the character’s iconic glove: The weapon concept is based on Freddy closing the distance on his victim.
This is one of the better parts of the crossover for gameplay as the character is both visually and mechanically represented.
But that doesn’t mean the weapon is the same as the Freddy’s Glove Item Shop pickaxe. They are distinct products.
Does Purchasing The Freddy Skin Get You Freddy’s Nightmare?
No
The Item Shop purchase and boss reward are separate.
Purchasing the 1,600-V Buck Freddy Krueger skin will not provide you with the associated pickaxe shown over at Epic It doesn’t mean you get the gameplay weapon from the Fortnitemares boss fight.
To be able to use Freddy’s Nightmare in a match you will want to play through the associated gameplay encounter.
That’s a big difference for anyone thinking of buying the skin just for the pickaxe shown in Fortnitemares promo.
Is the Freddy Krueger Skin Worth It at 1,600 V-Bucks?
That answer depends on what you value in a crossover skin.
For A Nightmare on Elm Street fans, the 1,600-V-Buck outfit is the easiest purchase to make since it grants access to the character without having to get the bigger bundle.
The pack is really just for collectors or players who really want the full Freddy-themed locker set.
There’s also a “gameplay” value question I’d like to clear up: the outfit doesn’t provide a play advantage. Fortnite cosmetics do not make Freddy a stronger character because you bought them.
The gameplay link, however, is via the separate Freddy boss fight and Freddy’s Nightmare weapon.
So how you decide to purchase should be how much you like the look of the skins, how valuable you think they are (in terms of collecting them), and how much you think you’ll get out of using the extras.
Freddy Krueger vs Freddy Fazbear
Fortnitemares 2026 again brings the big horror collaboration with Five Nights at Freddy’s which can make the two names a bit easy to confuse.
Freddy Krueger is the A Nightmare on Elm Street character.
Freddy Fazbear is the animatronic from Five Nights at Freddy’s.
They are two entirely separate Fortnite collaborations with separate cosmetics and packs. Both sets are currently available separately in the Epic Item Shop.
That distinction matters when you’re searching the Item Shop. If you are searching for the horror movie character that wears a bladed glove, then you want the A Nightmare on Elm Street section, not the Five Nights at Freddy’s one.
What Players Should Know Before Buying V-Bucks
Before investing in the Freddy Krueger Skin, make sure of three things.
First of all, choose if you want the character or the entire collection.
If all you want is Freddy, the 1,600 V-Buck skin saves you from dropping another 700 V-Bucks for the full pack.
Preview the individual cosmetics Second, you can preview the individual cosmetics.
The discount on the bundle is quite significant, but a discount is only helpful if you actually want the things bunded.
Third, you can always check the Item Shop for yourself before you buy.
Fortnite’s Item Shop rotates constantly and cosmetics may not be available. For the current listing and price, check the official store.
