Hellraiser: Revival Release: Platforms, Cost & What to Expect
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is set to release on October 8, 2026, reintroducing the Hellraiser world back into gaming, this time in a new first-person survival-horror outing.
Saber Interactive developed and published the game, which casts players as Aidan, who while trying to save his girlfriend Sunny from the Labyrinth finds himself drawn into the Genesis Configuration puzzle box itself and faces the Cenobites including Pinhead.
This is a Hellraiser game that is not multiplayer and definitely not a brief promotional experience. Revival is a single-player, narrative-driven action horror game that mixes exploration, puzzles, weapons and supernatural powers.
The release is also rather uncomplicated on the platform front. The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Saber has also confirmed a global take-off time, there’s a Steam demo, and the developer anticipates players completing the i game in “8-12 hours”.
Which Platforms Does Hellraiser: Hellworld Support?
Hellraiser: Revival feels like a game built for the current generation of hardware, not the last gen for PlayStation and Xbox.
The confirmed platforms are:
PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X|S Nintendo Switch 2 PC via Steam
The Xbox version is built for Xbox Series X|S, and the PC version can be purchased on Steam.
Saber has not listed a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version for now.
It’s good to know beforehand in case you want to purchase, as the title is focused on current-gen systems.
Nintendo Switch 2 Version
Of course, Nintendo Switch 2 has to be the more fascinating home console.
Saber has confirmed that there is a Switch 2 version, however the physical retail versions will release at different dates. The developer’s FAQ states that physical editions for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be releasing on October 30, 2026.
This is a separate release from the game’s digital release on October 8.
So don’t expect the physical version for Switch 2 to be available on the same day as the digital release.
What’s Included in the Deluxe Edition?
The extra $10 for the Deluxe Edition is definitely not just another version of the game.
It comes with a number of cosmetic and bonus items:
The Nailer melee weapon Cenobite shotgun skin Punisher baseball-bat skin Leviathan weapon charm Digital art book Digital soundtrack Bleeding Hearts digital novella 1980s horror movie filter
The key differentiator was that with the Deluxe Edition you got extra presentation and customization content on top of the game.
The Deluxe Edition is not necessary for those who want to focus on the campaign to play the main story.
If you happen to be purchasing just for the Hellraiser vibe, the digital novella, soundtrack, art book and 1980s horror filter make the pricier edition a little more worth it than a bundle made entirely of cosmetic weapon items.
Pre-Order Bonus Gifts
Pre-Ordering either version will grant you two more cosmetic items:
The Labyrinth Pistol Skin Martyr Sawblade Skin
These are bonuses that are separate from the Deluxe Edition contents.
That is to say that purchasing the Deluxe Edition does not supersede the pre-order package. The pre-order offer is valid for both editions.
Players who purchase post-launch should read the store listing carefully and not assume these bonuses will be available forever.

What Kind Of Game Is Hellraiser: Revival?
Hellraiser: Revival is a single-player, first-person action survival horror.
That mix is significant because it is what tells you what kind of experience you will be having.
It is not exactly a walking simulator focusing on atmospheric exploration, but it is also not primarily designed like a traditional action shooter.
The game fuses:
- First-person combat
- Survival-horror exploration
- Puzzles
- Narrative-driven development
- Melee weapons
- Ranged weapons
- Supernatural powers
- Inventory control
- Hellraiser’s Cenobite mythology
Horror Exploration With a Twist of Actionful Survival Horror.
Aidan Is the Protagonist
The story follows Aidan, who gets caught up with the Genesis Configuration while trying to rescue his girlfriend Sunny.
The puzzle box is integral to the game, not just a narrative nod to Hellraiser lore.
Aidan can also use its powers in game, making a combat system that blends traditional weapons with supernatural powers.
New in the game is also a cult dedicated to the Cenobites, as well as other enemies from the Hellraiser realm.
That stretch gives the campaign a larger threat structure than just running away from Pinhead the whole game.
What Is the Genesis Configuration?
The Genesis Configuration is one of Revival’s key gameplay concepts.
Instead of having the puzzle box as a mere passive item, the game imbues it with supernatural powers that Aidan can use in tandem with traditional weapons.
This leads to a very strange combat setup.
You’re not choosing between the two either, a gun and a melee weapon. The Configuration turns into another tool in the player’s arsenal.
Saber said the game lets players use the Configuration’s powers in conjunction with earthly weapons, as well.
That’s one of the starkest distinctions between Revival and a traditional first-person horror game. The box is both a narrative device and a gameplay element.
How Long Is Hellraiser Revival?
Saber Interactive is estimating the playthrough to last between eight and 12 hours, depending on the player.
That’s one of the best statements a potential buyer can hear.
So revival is not being marketed as a 30- or 40-hour open world horror game.
Its campaign is more a scripted horror experience, where pacing, atmosphere, and story take precedence.
It is determined by how long the player takes to explore and solve puzzles, as well as by the time they spend in combat.
For horror enthusiasts, the shorter format can also be a bonus.
A tight campaign also allows the developers to better control mood and storytelling, rather than padding out a large map with repetitive tasks just to increase playtime.
Is There a Hellraiser: Revival Demo?
Yes.
A demo is on Steam.
This is especially handy for PC gamers who hesitate to see if the game’s mixture of horror and action fits what they want.
There’s one big caution: the demo is from a pre-release version and may contain bugs, performance issues or unfinished content.
The progress from demo will not transfer into full game. So instead you should look at the demo as way to get a sense of the experience, not as the beginning of the full-fledged campaign.
Does Hellraiser: Revival Need an Internet Connection?
No.
According to the official FAQ from Saber, an internet connection is not needed to play the game.
This is good for a single-player title as it means the main campaign does not require an always-online connection.
The game does have Steam features like Steam Cloud, but these are not features that require you to always be online while playing the campaign.
Are There Post-Launch DLC Plans?
This is one of the most vital pieces of information when making a purchasing decision.
Saber Interactive states that it plans to release patches to fix bugs that are found after launch, but that it does not currently have plans for future DLC or additional content.
This means players should not purchase the game expecting a roadmap of seasonal content, expansions, or consistent gameplay additions.
The game is marketed as a standalone single-player experience.
Patches can still fix technical issues or other bugs found after launch. Just because the game is not planned to have DLC does not mean the developer will never update the game.
It just means that no post-launch content program is currently announced.
What This Means for Buyers
The fact that DLC is not going to be dlc influences how the editions should be considered.
When you buy Hellraiser: Revival, that’s what you’re getting; the full campaign that’s out now.
So the Deluxe Edition can be thought of as a premium bonus pack instead of a season pass.
You shouldn’t buy Deluxe expecting more story chapters though.
Rather, it’s a question of is the extra weapons, cosmetics and digital content worth it.
For a player whose main interest is the story, the Standard Edition includes the full game.
To a true Hellraiser fan who wants the digital art book, soundtrack and Bleeding Hearts novella, Deluxe is a no-brainer.
What About Physical Copies?
Physical editions ‘will be available’ for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Also physical edition for Nintendo Switch 2, release date 30.10.2026, publisher : Saber.
The Switch 2 edition is a game key card, as opposed to a traditional cartridge with the full game.
All the while PC players have gone digital via steam. That gives collectors a reason to pay attention to platform-specific release schedules rather than assuming all physical editions are coming October 8.
Mature Content and Streaming
Hellraiser: Revival It Becomes It an adult audience.
Strong violence, gore, torture, sexual themes and other mature material are present in the game.
Saber also notes that streaming and video creation is permitted and encouraged, but creators must place proper age-restrictions on the platform that their content is published to.
There is no streamer mode to strip all the mature content out or change it.
That distinction matters for creators. You can record gameplay, but as always the responsibility for properly labeling and age-restricting the content falls on the creator and the platform.
Hellraiser: Revival Does Use Generative AI?
No.
The game does not feature generative ai, according to Saber’s official FAQ.
This is information which is interesting for those players that care about how the content in a game was created, particularly as more and more generative tools are being utilised in the games industry.
