Rocket League Season 24: Honor Duels, Rewards & New Features
Rocket League Season 24 has arrived with a new direction built around competition, customization and a little more rivalry between players. The new season launched on September 23, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT, bringing a collection of gameplay features, new rewards, limited-time events and a fresh Rocket Pass.
The biggest addition is arguably Honor Duel, a new way for players to settle a rivalry after a match. Instead of simply leaving the lobby after a heated game, players can challenge another participant to a one-on-one duel and continue the competition after the original match ends.
That is only one part of the Season 24 update. Psyonix has also introduced Black Market Trade-Ins, customizable in-game scoreboards, a new Free Look Camera, updated keyboard-and-mouse controls, Top 100 ranked rewards and several limited-time events.
The season also features a Persona 5 Royal crossover, new Rocket Pass car bodies and a community-focused Rocket Rivalry event involving eight Rocket League creators.
Here is everything you need to know about Rocket League Season 24, including the new features, Honor Duels, rewards, Rocket Pass content, limited-time events and important dates.
Rocket League Season 24 Release Date
Rocket League Season 24 officially launched on:
September 23, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT
The season is available across the game’s supported platforms, and the update introduces both gameplay changes and new seasonal content.
Rather than being focused on a single new mode, Season 24 spreads its additions across several parts of Rocket League. Competitive players have new ranked rewards and Honor Duels, collectors have new trade-in functionality and Rocket Pass items, while casual players can try the new limited-time events.
This makes Season 24 more than a cosmetic refresh. Several of its features change how players interact with matches.
What Is Honor Duel in Rocket League?
Honor Duel is the headline feature of Season 24.
The concept is simple: during a match, a player can challenge another player to a 1v1 Honor Duel.
If the other player accepts, the duel does not interrupt the current match. Instead, both players automatically enter the Honor Duel after the ongoing match has finished.
Other players from the original match can also choose to spectate the duel.
This creates a completely different way to handle competitive moments in Rocket League. A player who wants to prove their individual skill does not have to immediately leave the lobby or create a separate private match.
The feature is designed around the idea of settling a rivalry directly.
How Honor Duels Work
The basic flow is:
- Play a normal Rocket League match.
- Challenge another player to an Honor Duel.
- The other player chooses whether to accept.
- If accepted, both players finish the current match.
- Afterward, the two players enter the 1v1 duel.
- Other players can spectate.
The duel uses the same match type associated with the original game.
This makes the feature relatively easy to understand, while still giving players a new reason to stay connected after a competitive match.
It is also worth remembering that the feature is optional. Players do not have to accept every challenge.
Rocket Rivalry Uses Honor Duels for a Community Competition
Honor Duels are not simply a standalone feature.
Season 24 also introduces Rocket Rivalry, a creator-focused competition built around the new duel system.
Eight Rocket League creators are taking part, with players able to support a creator by claiming and equipping that creator’s free Player Title.
The participating creators are:
- JZR
- ApparentlyJack
- Tenacity
- Forky
- almost
- Firewall154
- Twisty
- Crnovy
The idea is that players can represent their chosen creator and then contribute through Honor Duel victories.
This gives the new duel system a broader community purpose instead of limiting it to individual rivalries.
How Rocket Rivalry Points Work
Players can claim a free Player Title associated with one of the participating creators.
Once the title is equipped, Honor Duel wins can contribute to that creator’s Rocket Rivalry score.
The official Rocket Rivalry system uses both creator performance and community participation when calculating the leaderboard.
The competition is scheduled to continue through November 19, 2026, when the two highest-scoring creators will be announced.
Those two finalists will then compete in a live showmatch at the RLCS London Kickoff Event in December.
An important detail is that the community competition determines which two creators reach the live showmatch, but the final winner is decided through the live event itself.
Black Market Trade-In Explained
Season 24 also introduces a major new option for players with duplicate high-tier items.
The Black Market Trade-In system allows players to trade in three duplicate Black Market items to receive another Black Market item.
The resulting item can be a completely new Black Market item or a painted version of an item the player has not yet collected.
This gives duplicate Black Market items another purpose.
Previously, receiving duplicates could feel particularly frustrating for collectors because the items did not necessarily provide much additional value. The new system turns three duplicate Black Market items into an opportunity to obtain something different.
For collectors, the important point is that this system specifically targets duplicate Black Market items.
Players should therefore check their inventory before trading items away and make sure they understand which items qualify.
Season 24 Adds Custom Scoreboards
Another useful feature is the new Custom Scoreboard system.
Players can now choose which statistics appear beside the score during a match.
Up to four trackable stats can be selected for each mode.
This is particularly useful because different players pay attention to different aspects of their performance.
A traditional scoreboard might emphasize familiar statistics such as shots, saves and assists. With the new system, players can instead track other events, including things such as demos, high fives and flip resets.
The available statistics depend on the game’s supported tracking options, but the overall purpose is straightforward: players get more control over the information displayed during matches.
For players who like analyzing their performance, this could make the scoreboard considerably more useful.
New Free Look Camera and Keyboard Controls
Season 24 also makes changes to the way players control the camera.
A new Free Look Camera allows players to move their camera focus independently, giving them another way to look around the arena.
Although the feature is particularly relevant to keyboard-and-mouse players, controller players can also enable the Free Look Camera if they want to experiment with it.
The update also introduces modernized keyboard-and-mouse controls.
New players using mouse and keyboard receive the updated control configuration by default, while existing players can experiment with the new settings.
This is a significant quality-of-life change because camera control is one of the most important parts of high-level Rocket League play.
Players who have spent years using an established setup may not want to immediately change everything, but the new options provide another way to customize the experience.
Top 100 Ranked Rewards in Season 24
Competitive players have another reason to pay attention to the Season 24 ranked leaderboards.
The season introduces Top 100 Titles for the Soccar-specific global ranked leaderboards.
The relevant leaderboards include:
- 3v3
- 2v2
- 1v1
Players who finish inside the Top 100 can receive an exclusive title based on their final placement.
The reward structure is divided into placement ranges, with different titles representing different levels of the Top 100.
The highest placements receive increasingly exclusive titles, all the way to the player who finishes at number one.
These rewards are separate from ordinary seasonal rank rewards and are specifically tied to the global Soccar leaderboards.
For competitive players, that makes the end-of-season leaderboard position particularly important.
Season 24 Run It Up Event
Season 24 includes three Limited Time Events, with Run It Up beginning alongside the season.
Run It Up runs from:
September 23 to December 9, 2026
The event includes 14 new challenges.
Completing these challenges can reward players with Nova Collection Drops as well as additional items and titles.
The Nova Collection includes items such as:
- Ronin GXT Car Body
- Laser-Light Goal Explosion
- Neural Network Decal
- InfoSec Boost
- Fissure Trail
- Additional seasonal items
The event also includes Sport, Special, Deluxe and Import-level rewards.
There are also stat-tracking titles that can display a player’s Season 24 wins and MVP totals.
Because Run It Up remains available for much of the season, players have considerably more time to work through its challenges than they do with shorter LTEs.
Bullet Ball Limited Time Event
The second major launch-day LTE is Bullet Ball.
It runs from:
September 23 to October 6, 2026
Bullet Ball is built around a simple but dangerous concept: one fast-moving, homing ball targets a player.
If the ball hits its target, the targeted car is demolished.
The objective is therefore to survive while redirecting the threat toward another player.
How Bullet Ball Works
Bullet Ball has several important interactions.
Attack: Players can dodge forward into the ball to parry it toward a new target.
Freeze: A precisely timed backflip can temporarily stop the Bullet Ball’s attack.
Grab: Players can use the grab mechanic while dodging to grab an opponent. If the player holding the target is currently being hunted by the Bullet Ball, grabbing another player can transfer the target.
This creates a mode that is less about traditional soccer positioning and more about movement, timing and survival.
Since Bullet Ball is available only for a limited period, players interested in the mode should try it before October 6.
Persona 5 Royal Comes to Rocket League
One of the most recognizable collaborations in Season 24 is the Persona 5 Royal crossover.
The Persona 5 Royal Limited Time Event begins on:
September 25, 2026
and runs through:
October 12, 2026
The event adds themed challenges and rewards inspired by the Persona 5 Royal universe.
Players can earn items including:
- Trickstar (P5R) Wheels
- Morgana’s Token Boost
- Morgana’s Token Trail
- Phantom Thieves of Hearts Universal Decal
- Persona 5 Royal Octane Decal
- TAKE YOUR HEART Player Title
- Joker Topper
- Morgana Player Banner
- P5R Avatar Border
- Treasure Chest
- Repeatable 20,000 XP reward
There is also a Mona Car Bundle available through the Shop for players who want a more complete Persona-themed setup.
The bundle includes the Mona Car body, Wheels and Decal, along with additional Persona 5-themed customization options.
Rocket League Season 24 Rocket Pass
Season 24 introduces a new Rocket Pass featuring several new car bodies.
The three headline vehicles are:
Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 uses the Octane hitbox.
That makes it particularly interesting for players who already prefer the handling and hitbox characteristics of Octane-based vehicles.
Dominus GT 76
The Dominus GT 76 uses the Dominus hitbox.
Players who are comfortable with the Dominus family can therefore add another vehicle to their collection without moving to a completely different hitbox category.
Pareto 5S
The Pareto 5S uses the Breakout hitbox.
This gives Season 24 representation across three familiar hitbox families.
The Rocket Pass also includes additional Wheels, Boosts, Decals, Trails and Goal Explosions.
Notable items include:
- Forewarned: Holographic Wheels
- Synapse Boost
- Vextor Decal
- Treadsparks Trail
- Anipop Goal Explosion
MVP-Focused Match Celebration
Season 24 also changes the end-of-match podium presentation.
The match MVP receives more attention during the celebration, with their equipped Goal Explosion playing in the open net behind the team.
The Goal Explosion’s name is also displayed.
It is a relatively small presentation change, but it gives the MVP moment more personality and makes the end-of-match celebration feel more connected to the player’s customization.
Creator Drops Return
Season 24 also includes Creator Drops.
Rocket League content creators can receive codes to distribute to their audiences through platforms such as YouTube and Twitch.
Players who redeem an eligible code can receive a Drop containing an item from a range of rarity tiers, including items reaching the Black Market tier.
Because these rewards depend on creator distribution, players should pay attention to legitimate creator announcements rather than relying on unofficial code lists.
New Reactive Goal Explosions
Another cosmetic feature arrives in the Shop on September 26.
These are new two-part reactive Goal Explosions that change after multiple goals.
The first goal triggers the standard version of the effect.
After another goal, the Goal Explosion can progress into its final form.
This is a cosmetic system rather than a gameplay advantage, but it gives players another way to make repeated scoring moments visually distinct.
Free Community Spotlight Title
Season 24 also includes a free Community Spotlight item.
Longtime Rocket League community member and RLCS caster herculyse is being recognized with the Professional Yapper Player Title.
The title is available through the Shop’s Community Spotlight section from the Season 24 launch until September 30.
Because the availability window is short, players interested in collecting the title should check the Shop before the deadline.

What Makes Season 24 Different?
Season 24 is notable because several of its features encourage players to interact with each other beyond the standard match.
Honor Duel takes competition outside the normal match structure. Rocket Rivalry turns those duels into a community competition. Custom Scoreboards make match information more personal, while the new camera and keyboard controls give players additional control over how they play.
At the same time, the season maintains the familiar Rocket League formula through the Rocket Pass, limited-time modes and cosmetic events.
The result is a season that mixes competitive features with a substantial amount of optional content.
Final Thoughts
Rocket League Season 24 is more than another collection of cosmetic items.
The introduction of Honor Duels gives players a new way to challenge opponents after a match, while Rocket Rivalry connects those duels to a larger creator competition. The new Black Market Trade-In system also gives duplicate high-tier items a new purpose.
Competitive players can chase the new Top 100 Titles, while players interested in customization have the Rocket Pass, Nova Collection, Persona 5 Royal rewards and new Shop items to explore.
The three Limited Time Events also give Season 24 a varied schedule. Run It Up provides longer-term challenges, Bullet Ball offers a fast survival-focused experience, and the Persona 5 Royal event adds themed rewards for a limited period.
Perhaps the most practical changes, however, are the new Custom Scoreboards and Free Look Camera. These features do not fundamentally change Rocket League’s physics, but they give players more control over how they see and interact with the game.
If you are starting Season 24 now, the best approach is to explore the new systems gradually: try an Honor Duel, check the Rocket Rivalry title options, work through Run It Up challenges, and keep track of the shorter event deadlines.
With new competitive features, collectible rewards and several limited-time activities running at the same time, Season 24 gives Rocket League players plenty of reasons to return throughout the season.
